Jewish Prison Outreach
Rabbi Moshe Caytak visits correctional facilities in Ottawa and Kingston every month, offering spiritual guidance, emotional support, and Jewish learning to incarcerated individuals. He leads discussion groups, assists with prayer and study, and helps inmates strengthen their connection to Judaism and all their needs during this challenging time in their lives.
These visits provide a crucial connection to the outside world, offering hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging. For many, this difficult experience becomes a turning point — a chance to explore their Jewish identity and begin a journey of personal growth.
At Chabad, we believe in the power of the soul and the potential for change. Every individual has a purpose, a divine connection, and a vital role in the world — even from behind prison walls. Through compassion, Torah study, and a message of unity, we help inmates discover inner strength and prepare for a positive reintegration into society.
No matter the circumstances, Rabbi Caytak is here — ready to offer support, encouragement, and a helping hand to both inmates and their families.
