Making Space for What Matters

“We’ll come next time.”

It is something we all say.

This Sunday is too busy. The children have a game. Work ran late. Everyone is tired. We will light Shabbat candles next week, attend the next holiday or find another opportunity to do something Jewish together.

But “next time” can easily become next month - or next year.

At Chabad of Wellington West, our purpose is to make those Jewish moments easier to choose. A warm Shabbat table. A child proudly reading their first Hebrew word. A personal invitation to someone who has not attended in years. A hospital visit when a patient feels far from home. A place where a family can walk through the door and immediately know that they belong.

Our High Holiday Campaign

From September 8-10, we need to raise $50,000 to welcome hundreds of Jewish people for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah - and to continue serving them throughout the year.

We do not charge membership fees, and no one is turned away because of cost. That is only possible because generous people in our community step forward to provide that opportunity for others.

Your gift helps provide the Machzor a guest will hold, the security that allows everyone to pray safely, the children’s program that enables parents to attend, and the holiday meal where someone who might otherwise be alone finds a seat among friends.

It also gives us the ability to call someone personally and say: “We’re preparing for the holidays, and I was thinking about you. I would really love to see you.”

Make a Place for Someone

Please consider a gift of $180, $360 or $540. If you are able to do more, a gift of $1,800 or $3,600 will carry a significant part of this campaign.

During the High Holidays, we will display a Caring Wall with the names of those who helped make these experiences possible. A guest may see your name before ever meeting you. It will tell them:

Someone cared that I came. Someone wanted me here. Someone made a place for me.
